Welcome to the Woodbury Girl Scouts Service Unit Website.
At the local level, the Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys are broken down into smaller governing bodies called service units. The Woodbury Service Unit is proud to serve 117 Girl Scout troops with just over 1000 registered girl members and 532 registered adult volunteers.
All of our guiding principles are directly connected to The Girl Scout Promise and The Girl Scout Law.
On January 18, 2010 the Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys announced that their Board of Directors had made a decision upon recommendation of the Long Term Property Task Force. Our beloved Camp Rolling Ridges, along with several other camp properties, are scheduled to be closed and placed on the market to be sold as of October 1, 2010. We have created a page on our service unit website to keep everyone up-to-date on this topic. A meeting is being help on Thursday, February 11, 7pm-9pm, to give concerned volunteers more details on how this decision was made as well as address questions that have been submitted in advance. You must RSVP to attend the meeting. See the Camp RR page. Please be assured that daycamp will still take place this summer, as scheduled.
Everyone should download and print a copy of the most recent SafetyWise updates, effective 08/27/2009. You should keep a copy tucked inside of your troop copy of SafetyWise.
Please plan to attend the next Woodbury Service Unit Troop Leaders Meeting on Monday, March 1, 7pm.

Forever Green ~ Girl Scouts Forever Green Community Action Project, January 25 - April 30
In 2012, Girl Scouts will celebrate its 100th anniversary. To mark this milestone and honor our founder, Juliette Gordon Low, Girl Scouts of all ages will be engaging in a nationwide Community Action Project, “Girl Scouts Forever Green.” River Valleys was selected as a pilot council for this exciting national initiative.
Using their leadership skills, girls will plan and implement a Take Action project in one of five environmental focus areas (air, waste management, water, energy, green space). Girls will track their environmental impact on a national website.
All Girl Scout troops, Juliettes, friends, and family can get involved today and be Forever Green!
Young Women's Conference ~ Dream Alone...Achieve Together is being held at Century College on March 20. The keynote speaker is the amazing Ann Bancroft! Featured workshops include on nontraditional careers, technical careers and personal growth sessions.
Fall Encampment ~ If you did not get your encampment patches, please contact Julie S.
Special Needs Troops Now Forming ~ The Woodbury Service Unit is in the process of forming new troops for girls with special needs. This opportunity is open to girls of all abilities in Kindergarten to 12th grade.

Troops Seeking Your Help
Many times, troops are looking for help to complete a service project or earn leadership hours. Watch here for opportunities to assist your sister Girl Scouts.
Several troops are continuing to collect plastic caps for recycling through the Aveda program. Please feel free to bring your caps with you to monthly Troop Leader Meetings. Thanks!
